# Data regions

> Where customer data is hosted

Customers pick a region at signup. Data stays in that region. [Self-service SaaS](/commercial/saas) and all four [tenancy tiers](/commercial/tiers) can be deployed in each of them.

A data region is a hosting choice. It is not the same as the order in which AiQL sells. Geographic focus for sales is on [Market](/market/overview).
